How to Utilize Your God Given Spiritual Gifts | 8 Unique Ideas to Consider

Spiritual Gifts

So, you've been saved for some time now and you want to contribute to the Body of Christ. You understand you have a purpose, but you don't know exactly what you are called to do nor how to accomplish your mission.

Guess what, you're not alone. I will share with you how to utilize the spiritual gift(s) your Creator blessed you with to help build His kingdom and glorify the Body of Christ.

The diversity of spiritual gifts

1 Corinthians 12:4-7

4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

I hope you read the 1 Corinthians scripture above. God says, But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. In other words, God gave each of us spiritual gifts to use.

Although, the gifts are different they are of the same spirit. So, stop telling yourself you have nothing to offer to the Body of Christ because you do!

Quote: "God is so amazing that when He created you He implanted skills and talents that not only benefit society as a whole, but more importantly, glorify the Body of Christ." –

God is so amazing that when He created you He implanted skills and talents that not only benefit society as a whole, but more importantly, glorify the Body of Christ.

We have to keep in mind that our gifts are unique and an integral part of the Body of Christ functioning in unison. So, if your gift is healing and your fellow brother or sister in Christ has the gift of evangelizing, don't covet their gift for no one gift is more important than another. The Body of Christ needs them all.

Romans 12:3-8

3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

One of the best ways to solve this dilemma is to seek God through prayer, obedience, and by reading His word. Because He blessed you with the spiritual gifts He will also open your eyes to what was always inside of you.

As you grow your relationship with the Lord, you will start to take notice areas of your life you excel in. Evaluating past experiences can also be helpful. Before long your spiritual gifts are no longer a mystery.

Deepening your relationship with God will fortify you with wisdom and discernment. This is extremely important because Satan loves convincing people gifts from him are the same as gifts from God. I assure you they are not!

When you have discernment you'll be able to recognize a counterfeit gift; if the gift contradicts biblical principles then you know it doesn't edify the Body of Christ and is from Satan.

For example, one of the most common gifts given to people by Satan is the gift of psychic ability. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Christians who believe psychic ability is a gift from God.

Maybe Christians are confusing psychic abilities with prophetic gifts or divine visions, but either way it is a dangerous one to entertain and the Lord makes if very clear not to dabble in such things.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14

9When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. 14For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

If you believe you've been given the gift of psychic ability please know it is a deception from the enemy. Seek God immediately, and ask that the gift be sent back to whence it came.

Continue to pray that your real spiritual gift(s) is/are manifested. Psychic ability has no place in the Body of Christ, ever!

When you are ready to walk in your spiritual gifts it's okay to go the more traditional route like volunteering in your local church or shelter. Trust me your gifts are needed there too, but let's be open minded to other possibilities as well.

If you're feeling a little creative and slightly adventurous here are a few ideas to consider when deciding how to help glorify our Father and to lead souls to Christ.

Blog Post: How to Utilize Your God Given Spiritual Gifts | 8 Unique Ideas to Consider –

8 Unique Ideas to Consider

1) Start a blog. Blogging is a wonderful outlet for those who are expressive and enjoy writing about valuable information regarding the faith.

In an information driven society it's the perfect place to share the wisdom you have acquired on your Christian walk.

2) Open a forum. Forums are becoming increasingly popular. Why not create one to encourage open discussions regarding faith and Christianity? If you have the gift of gab, this would be an awesome platform to spread the gospel.

3) Create a Youtube Channel. Who doesn't enjoy watching an informative video? If you have the gift of production and or videography you can use that to glorify God by ministering to others.

Who said your videos have to be boring? Make them entertaining, artsy, interesting, and or thought provoking. Whatever comes to mind as long as it pleases the Father.

To learn more about starting a Youtube ministry checkout my blog post: What You Should Know Before Starting a YouTube Ministry for some honest advice.

4) Launch a non-profit using your creative gifts. Need I say more. You can read all about Sister Sharon's Handmade Soaps for Hope whose mission is to perform random acts of kindness throughout the country while sharing the gospel.

5) Create a website. You can run a full fledge website ministering the gospel.

If you so choose go with a niche to reach a specific target audience like Christians living in their 20s, new believers in Christ, newlywed Christian couples, Christian homemakers, or teens for Christ. The options are endless.

Take it up a notch by adding a resource library or even a chat room.

6) Write a book. It sounds ambitious, but the popularity of ebooks have turned people into published authors overnight – well almost overnight, lol.

If writing compels you and you have a testimony you want to share or information that will benefit other Believers on their walk, why not write a book?

7) Start an online bible study group. One of my beloved sisters in Christ started one a few years ago and I must say it definitely contributed to the Body of Christ.

If you love teaching others then start an online bible study group using Skype or a similar platform.

If online isn't your style, invite people over to your home. There are countless stories in the Bible where people gathered together in homes to hear and to share the gospel.

8) Launch a Podcast. With people always on the go it's an excellent option to ignite fruitful conversations when you incorporate guest interviews.

Whether your followers are driving to work or performing chores around the house a podcast is another avenue your listeners can receive the gospel.

There are no excuses. Get busy!

The purpose of these 8 tips is to demonstrate that our gifts should not be contained within the church walls nor hoarded for ourselves, but shared throughout the whole world.

We live in a technologically advanced society and have the means to utilize and share our gifts with others with the touch of a finger. There are no more excuses! Take advantage of that, so together we can reach people at the far corners of the earth.
